The Gorge Perinatal Mental Health Initiative
The Gorge Perinatal Mental Health Initiative (PMHI) was formed to address prenatal and postpartum mental health concerns in the Columbia Gorge region. We believe parents in our community should be able to have their mental health concerns addressed and that when parents are supported, all families thrive.
PMHI aims to increase awareness about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, strengthen community capacity, and provide resources for parents experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
About PMHI
They are a grant-funded program serving communities in both Oregon and Washington. With the support of our primary funder, they have built the infrastructure for PMHI to provide peer-based support for parents, deliver training and education for professionals, and lead a task force dedicated to identifying and addressing local challenges. To carry out this work, we partnered with Perinatal Support Washington for technical assistance and training support.
