What is Preschool Promise?
Preschool Promise offers free school day, school year preschool options for eligible families with children ages 3 and 4.
Preschool Promise offers culturally relevant early child care and education programs. Programs are in a wide variety of settings including home-based, center-based, and school-based care. Families are able to apply for whichever program meets their needs best. We currently have Preschool Promise providers in Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco & Wheeler Counties.
Eligible children must be:
Between the ages of 3 and 4 years old.
Living in Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco or Wheeler Counties.
Household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line (or) child is in resource care. See chart for income limits.

Help your child prepare for kindergarten
Create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all children and families, regardless of ability, family composition, culture, language, or family income
Operate in a wide variety of settings: centers, homes, and schools
Support parents as partners in their child’s learning and development
Designed for children aged 3-5 (your child must be age 3 by September 1st and not yet eligible for Kindergarten.)
